Hello everybody!
Today I want to share my new song “Across the Blue” with you. This song has a very special meaning for me. It is dedicated to my best friend, whom I met in 2014 during a volunteer project in Spain. Back then, it was simply a meeting between two people from different countries, but over time it grew into a true friendship – one that does not depend on how often you can be together.
There have always been kilometers and borders between us. He lives in Greece, I live in Russia. The last time we saw each other was in 2019, when he came to visit me in Russia. Seven years have passed since then. A lot has changed during this time. Each of us has experienced many different moments – happy memories, new chapters, losses, and challenges. The world around us has changed as well: the pandemic, political upheavals, conflicts, natural disasters, and many other events that have affected all of us in one way or another.
But some connections do not disappear when circumstances change. True friendship cannot be destroyed by distance, time, or everything that happens around us. That is what “Across the Blue” is really about. It is about two people separated by thousands of kilometers, but connected by shared memories and the feeling that some encounters in life are not accidental. It is about missing someone and still feeling that person close, even when there is an ocean and years of separation between you. This song is about the road towards each other. About the desire to leave waiting, messages, and screens behind one day and simply be together again – to talk, remember the past, and continue a story that began many years ago.
“Across the Blue” has become an important part of my new album “Between”. I feel that it perfectly continues the album’s main idea – everything that exists between people: distance and closeness, the past and the present, memories and hope for the future.
Perhaps some songs are written not only to tell the story of what has already happened. Sometimes they become the starting point for something that is yet to come.
Across the blue –
For me and for you.
Across The Blue
I VERSE:
A cobblestone, a crowded square,
Two strangers lost without a care.
The open road, the endless sky –
We never really said goodbye.
PRE-CHORUS:
And now the miles keep us apart,
But you still live inside my heart.
CHORUS:
Across the blue –
What else can I do?
Across the blue,
I’m coming right through.
Across the blue,
For me and for you.
II VERSE:
A thousand nights, a thousand days,
I still recall your voice and gaze.
But all this time we can’t ignore –
Would I still know you as before?
PRE-CHORUS:
The distance calls and I give way,
There’s nothing left to make me stay.
CHORUS:
-//-
BRIDGE:
No more waiting, no more fear,
The tide is calling loud and clear.
No more screens, no more delay –
Just you and me, come what may.
CHORUS:
-//-
[Instrumental solo]
